IOCF - Clergy Formation

Opportunity for pastors and parochial vicars to get off to a great start as true collaborators in ministry. This luncheon event is designed to stimulate and help deepen this communication, understanding, and clarity. Archbishop Bernard Hebda will join us. 

We are working with Emmaus Partners to provide their financial analysis services to first-time pastors as they receive their first parish assignment or current pastors moving from one parish to another. We will provide an overview of important parish finance and budget management principles/tools, as well as a top-level financial review of your newly assigned parish and school financial statements and a school report. 

This session will go through canonical “hot topics” – those pastorally challenging situations that come up that can throw even the most experienced pastor for a loop and how to handle a variety of parish legal issues.

Fr. Vander Ploeg will provide direction on how to be with the Lord amid the suffering when confronted with evil in a fallen world.

This afternoon will explore the physical and emotional impact of trauma, including vicarious trauma (which can occur when helping others through their trauma).
