For many years, access to sacramental records for family history research has been limited to remote requests submitted to the Archdiocese Archives. To celebrate our 175th anniversary, the Archives has embarked on a project to make historical records accessible directly to researchers online. We are hopeful this project will be complete in 2026. Effective immediately, genealogical research services previously offered by the Archdiocese will cease. This pause will allow us to shift resources toward this digital offering.
Please continue to direct any historical sacramental research requests you receive to the Archdiocese Archives website at archspm.org/research. That website will provide links to alternate sources while this project is underway. Please remember that no researchers may ever be given access to parish sacramental registers. Parishes may continue to provide burial information for parish cemeteries and of course sacramental certificates to authorized recipients. Any questions may be directed to records@archspm.org.
