For Catholic schools: Minnesota Department of Education Verification Process Timeline for Meal Programs

For Catholic schools: Every school year, before February 1, each School Food Authority (SFA) with more than one site must conduct an on-site review of the lunch meal service of each site under its jurisdiction.

The annual evaluation of the Head of School is an important facet of the Catholic school’s commitment to educational quality and excellence. The necessity of this annual process is articulated in the updates to the 2019 Archdiocesan Handbook Templates for Parishes with a Catholic School and Regional Catholic Schools. The Archdiocesan procedures to guide the pastor, canonical administrator or board chair in this annual evaluation process were developed in 2019 in consultation with the Roadmap Talent Management Focus Area Team, the Archdiocesan Educational Working Group, and local school leaders and pastors. Individualized training to support these procedures is available from Department of Catholic Schools in the Office for the Mission of Catholic Education.

SPANISH VERSION: The Archdiocesan Application for Educational Benefits assists schools in gathering the most complete and accurate information regarding their free or reduced lunch count for the Archdiocesan Schools Report. This form will also determine which families would be qualify for Title I intervention aide, gathering information needed to report on a school’s Fall Non-Public Report. Schools not participating in the state’s new free meals (breakfast and lunch) program may consider using this form or something similar to gather the information they will need on both the Annual School Report for the Archdiocese as well as MDE’s Fall Nonpublic Report.
