The Boy Scouts of America purchased new insurance policies on March 1. As a result, it was necessary for the USCCB to make some changes to the insurance provisions in their agreements with Catholic organizations. The BSA did not object to any of those suggestions. The updated documents can be found here. The affiliation agreement is to be used when a parish/school charters a troop. The facility use agreement is to be used when the troop is not chartered by the parish but is using parish facilities.
Questions regarding the use of these documents can be directed to Patrick Reardon, the Chair of the Archdiocesan Catholic Committee on Scouting, at patjreardon@gmail.com, or to Catholic Mutual at 651-290-1605.
