As we approach the close of the 2025-26 program year, please review the latest Safe Environment program updates and preparation tips for the 2025-26 program year Spring Audit Report.
Action Needed: Review Master Report for those Actively Serving (SAR preparation)
To ensure the Master Report is complete for the Spring Audit Report and includes all paid staff and volunteers serving youth or vulnerable adults:
1. Run the “SAR Parameters” report found in the Master Report dropdown list.
* Path: Reports → Compliance Reports → Master Reports → Saved Reports
2. Update VIRTUS records as needed by activating or inactivating users to ensure accuracy of the Master Report for Spring Audit Reporting submission.
3. Compare the report to your local list of all individuals serving youth or vulnerable adults.
Reminder: Personal Safety Lessons Attendance Records Needed for the Spring Audit Report
Remember to keep attendance records for PSLs for easy Spring Audit Reporting. These attendance records need to be permanently retained by schools and parishes.
Reminder: Update Custom Master Report Criteria
If your parish or school uses personalized or pre-saved master reports found under the Compliance section of VIRTUS, update any saved reports to include “Keeping the Promise Alive 4.0” versions.

Schedule time now with your OPCY Program Liaison for questions regarding the Spring Audit Report.
The Spring Audit Report for the 2025-2026 program year includes several updates; a revised timeline, submission flow, and reporting criteria. Additional details will be posted to Mission Support next week.
Please see the sample Parish Form or School Form for guidance of which areas will be needed for submission.
Start planning now with the schedule below:
- May 18 – SAR Submission Portal opens for data input & uploads
- June 5 – SAR Submission Portal closes for data entry (No signatures are needed at this point)
- June 18 – Program Liaisons issue SAR forms with evaluation scores to designated SAR contacts for stakeholder signature
- June 26 – Signed Spring Audit Report forms uploaded to the SAR submission portal
This process ensures data accuracy prior to collecting leadership acceptance signatures and allows OPCY to prepare Archdiocesan-wide data for submission to the USCCB Secretariat of Child and Youth Protection in accordance with Article 9 of the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People.
