Parishes are prohibited from participating or intervening in any election on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for political office. However, it is still important to try and keep parishioners informed on public policy. The Minnesota Catholic Conference and the USCCB have created resources for discerning political advocacy in parishes while abiding by the laws associated with tax-exempt organizations.
