Archdiocesan Policy 317: Deans – Role and Responsibilities has been revised and posted online, following the establishment of new Deaneries on July 1. The geographic deaneries were reconfigured to promote better collaboration between parishes and are classified as primarily Rural, Suburban or Urban.
Policy 317 was revised to reflect Archbishop Hebda’s vision of the role of deans in these deaneries as being the primary setting for inter-parish collaboration, including future discussions as part of the comprehensive renewal of structures initiative. The revised policy also supports Archbishop Hebda’s intention that the deanery structure serve as the ordinary mechanism for regular communication and consultation between the Archbishop and priests.
