Archbishop Bernard Hebda’s Post-Synodal Pastoral Letter, “You Will Be My Witnesses,” called for the creation of an Archdiocesan Blue Ribbon Commission that would focus on “Parents as Primary Educators.” The Office for the Mission of Catholic Education is supporting this work and hosted the Commission’s first meeting on November 29. Commission members representing a diverse slate of practitioners and experts in education and formation ministries will formulate recommendations concerning how this local Church might better inform and inspire parents to understand and fulfill their responsibility as the first teachers of their children in the ways of the faith.
