If donors are addressing their checks to the parish (the parish is listed as the payee) and the gift intention is for the Catholic Services Appeal, please do not cash these checks. Instead, sign over the check to CSA and mail it to us by following the below steps:
- Sign your parish name exactly as it appears on the front of the check in the endorsement area (typically on the back of the check).
- Then, endorse the check to the CSA by writing “Pay to the order of Catholic Services Appeal” underneath your signature.
- Finally, mail the check to CSA as you normally would. Please make sure that it is clear who the donation is from, whether that be on the check itself or on a cover sheet that you include with the mailed envelope.
This will ensure the donor receives a thank you letter from the archdiocese and helps keep our records clean and consistent. As a reminder, parishioners can find information to mail donations directly to the CSA or make a donation online at csa.archspm.org.
