The reflection will be mainly centered upon the magisterial teaching on the theological virtue of Hope that Benedict XVI left us in his encyclical letter Spe Salvi. Drawing from the consummate theological and pastoral insights of this encyclical – and referencing a few other works of Benedict XVI/Joseph Ratzinger – this reflection will focus on the inner connection between the virtue of hope and the vocation to the priesthood in light of our current historical situation.
