Pastoral Planning: Leading with Clarity, Mission and Hope

May 6, 2026

Presented by Jim Weiland and Judy Logan (Emmaus Partners)

Location: St. Peter’s, 1405 Sibley Memorial Hwy, Mendota

Pastoral planning doesn’t have to mean binders, bureaucracy, or plans that never leave the shelf.

This training invites priests to rediscover pastoral planning as a spiritual and missionary act—a prayerful, strategic process by which parish leaders assess needs, set goals, and coordinate ministry efforts so that parish life, evangelization, and mission flourish. It’s rooted in Church teaching, informed by data and listening, and involves building teams and processes that help parishes respond to pastoral realities with intentionality leading to renewal in parish life.

Together we will explore how to:

  • Move from maintenance to mission-driven planning
  • Understand principles of pastoral discernment to learn of God’s priorities for your parish in this season
  • Learn frameworks and tools to guide the parish planning processes.
  • Build, engage, and lead a unified team
  • Lead change by creating a pastoral plan tied to worship, evangelization, faith formation, stewardship, and outreach with clarity, confidence, and hope

Designed for priests carrying real pastoral weight, this formation offers practical tools and prayerful rhythms to help you lead decisively—without leading alone.
