It is no surprise that studies and experience show the first years of priesthood are an extremely important formative time for new priests to be properly supported and affirmed in priestly identity and ministry. For several years now, The Saint Paul Seminary Institute for Ongoing Clergy Formation (SPS-IOCF) has offered regular gatherings for newly ordained priests.
Archbishop Hebda asks you to come together as a class four times during the academic year over your first three years of priesthood. Fr. John Gallas will be present to lead and support you in these evenings with Deacon Gannon. Archbishop plans to be present for one of your gatherings. As your attendance is expected by him, he appreciates your making these evenings a priority and ensuring parish activities do not conflict with this commitment.
Schedule:
3:00 PM: Holy Hour (confessions available until 3:40) with Evening Prayer and Benediction
4:00 PM: Social with hors d’oeuvres
4:30 PM: Talk with a facilitated discussion on topics very relevant to your life as a newly ordained priest.
5:30 PM: Dinner at the Binz
